APC to decide on zoning after screening presidential aspirants — Adamu

Adamu said this in an interview with selected Hausa service media organisations late Wednesday night, adding that the presidential aspirants would be scrutinised in accordance with the party’s guidelines for the 2023 general elections. Senator Abdullahi Adamu, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that the party would take a decision on zoning after screening its 2023 presidential aspirants. We have not produced our candidate for the presidency yet, we have to screen the aspirants to know the way forward.

Abba Kyari escapes murder in prison, considered for SSS custody

Prison officials are considering moving suspended police officer Abba Kyari to the custody of the State Security Service (SSS) from the Kuje prison after he nearly got murdered by aggrieved inmates, who accused him of insincerity in bribe-for-release deals when he was in active service. According to internal documents and officials accessed by PREMIUM TIMES, the attack happened on May 4, months after Mr Kyari, who is on trial for drug-related offences, was remanded. Some of the markets in Onitsha, such as Onitsha Main Market, Ochanja Central Market, Oseokwodu Markets,  Bridge Head Markets, Onitsha Medicine Market, popularly known as Ogbo Ogwu Market, Biafra Market Onitsha, New Spare Parts Nkpor, Old Motor Parts Nkpor, Old Motor Spare Parts Obosi, New Tyre Market Nkpor all in Onitsha and its environs, and Nkwo Nnewi Market, Obi Nsoedo Market, Motor Spare Parts Nnewi, Motorcycle Spare Part Nnewi, and Timber Market also in Nnewi were all shut down as the roads in the industrial city was also deserted. The Police have arrested Sowore at Abuja High Court during Nnamdi Kanu trial

The convener of #RevolutionNow came to witness the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the Anuja High Court. As at the time of filling this report, the Journalist could not ascertain the reason behind his arrest. The  former presidential candidate, and founder of an online news agency ‘Sahara Reporters’, Omoyele Sowore has been arrested.

Ezeife storms court, over Nnamdi Kanu’s trial

The former Anambra state governor, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has entered the court room to witness the trial of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Ezeife was seen in the courtroom around 9:37am. Recall that the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Professor George Obiozor, appointed Ezeife to lead the Ohanaeze delegation to the trial of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Reacting to today’s hearing, the Coordinator of Igbo Lawyers all over the world, alleged that he came from Aba, Abia state and was denied access to the court room. Herders-farmers clash: lasting solution to age-long conflict between Herders and farmers.

Beyond the ban placed on open grazing of cattle by many states of the federation to curb incessant violent conflict between herders and farmers, some of the state governments have also come up with novel initiatives to forestall the menace in their domains.  The action of the states is guided by the realisation that the establishment of ranches, which both northern and southern governors point to as the way forward, would not come quickly and cheaply and herders must continue with their business pending when ranches are built.
